Classroom Guidance with Mrs. Spangler:
Topic: How to Reframe Our Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTS) otherwise known as “Cognitive Distortions”
Objectives:
Students will be able tell the difference between positive and negative thoughts.  Students will learn how the self-talk (thoughts) we have affect the way we feel. Students will make the connection that negative thoughts often create a sense of worry or fear while positive thoughts create a sense of confidence. Students will reflect on their own cognitive distortions/faulty thinking and how to replace a negative thought with a more manageable one (flexible thinking).
