Upcoming PTO Meeting:
Second grade will display our Animal Research Projects
at the PTO Meeting on Monday, April 8th at 6:00.  Please
have your child in the cafeteria at 6:00.  They will sit in
front of their displays and answer questions as people walk
around (think museum style).  The kids will not need to
have note cards or memorize anything.  Thank you for your
participation!  The kids are really excited to show  off
their hard work!

Field Day:
Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 10.  Our theme
this year is "Running Through the Decades."  Our class is
encouraged to wear 1990's attire.  More information will go
out soon!

What are We Learning This Week?:

Topic 4: Equal Groups (Preparation for Multiplication)

Reading/Writing:
Reading Story (Starting 3/29): Dig Wait Listen (Treasures textbook)

Unit of Study:
The students will demonstrate an understanding of the role of goods
and services and supply and demand in a community. People's choices
affect the types of goods and services that are produced as well as the
price of those goods and services.

SPRING MAP TESTING FOR 2ND - 5TH GRADE

Reading & Math MAP Testing is scheduled for April 3 - 10th.
Each classroom
will test on two days during that testing window (Second Grade: Reading
on April 4 at 9:00, Math on April 9 at 9:00).  The MAP test is administered
in the Fall and in the Spring to measure each student’s academic growth.
Please ensure that your child is in attendance on their scheduled testing date.
There will be one day for makeup testing, but students perform much better when
taking the test with their own class and teacher.
