Looking Ahead to the Week of Oct. 22 (STEM)

Reminders:

Monday: Morning Fun Run
Tuesday: Library books are due
Wednesday:
Thursday: Field Trip 9:00 (Wear a Blue Shirt!); Mr. Putter and Tabby Spelling Test; Homework Packet #6 is DUE!  
Homework Packet #7 is issued; Morning Fun Run
Friday: Early Release; Mr. Putter and Tabby Comprehension/Skills Test, Enjoy the weekend!

Upcoming Field Study
October 25th will be our first "Being There Experience" at the Sandhills Research Center.  
  • Please have students at school on time October 25th!
  • We will eat lunch in our classroom when we return to the school.  
  • Please have your student wear a Blue t-shirt on the day of the trip and wear tennis shoes. 
  • If you want your child to wear sunscreen it must be applied at home.
  • We will leave the school at approximately 9:00 and return around 12:00.

Topic 15 Envisions: This unit will focus on measurement using a variety of measuring tools.

Reading/Writing:
This week we will be finishing our story, Mr. Putter and Tabby, on page 38 of the Treasures Textbook. Please read and discuss the story with your student.  (Test Oct. 26)
Skills: Pronouns, Prefixes and Suffixes, Problem and Solution, Long /U/
Writing: Narratives

Social Studies:
We will continue our studies on maps and their uses in the “Real World”. We will be able to identify different types of communities and discuss ways these communities change over the course of time. http://www.abcya.com/USA_geography_puzzle_map.htm
